Application Note | Determination of Cu, Pb, and Zn in Mineral Processing Wastewater by AAS
Release Date :2026-08-11
Mineral resource development supports economic growth, but improperly treated mineral processing wastewater can create serious environmental pollution. Such wastewater often contains elevated concentrations of heavy-metal ions, including copper (Cu), lead (Pb), and zinc (Zn). Excess Cu can harm aquatic organisms and crop growth; Pb is highly bioaccumulative and neurotoxic; and although Zn is an essential trace element, excessive levels can impair water self-purification and disrupt ecological balance. Accurate monitoring of Cu, Pb, and Zn is therefore essential for pollution assessment, process optimization, and discharge-compliance control.
